work experience

sudan human rights hub [april 2024 - present]

archive director

  • I work with developers, journalists, investigators, human rights monitors, and grassroots human rights organizations based in sudan to archive their data (digital media, social media documentation, written testimonials, etc) on the human rights abuses committed throughout the April 15, 2023 war in sudan. I manage a team of three archival officers and eleven investigators and work with them to ensure the security of this data and to make it easily accessible to those that need it. In addition to managing sudan human rights hub's archive from the past decade, I work with sudan human rights hub's technical development team to build out a decentralized archive that can support the archiving needs of grassroots partners from across Sudan.

savannah innovation labs [dec 2022 - april 2024]

researcher & consultant

  • I analyzed surveys, polls, and other relevant materials collected from start ups incubated by savannah innovation labs to produce reports detailing our quarterly progress to stakeholders such as the british council and usaid. These reports situated savannah’s operations in the political and economic context of sudan’s post-revolution transition.

arabi facts hub, open transformation labs [aug 2022 - jan 2023]

seasonal grant writer

  • I wrote two grant applications for awards administered by the national institute for the humanities on behalf of  arabi facts hub. I helped the team develop a long term, sustainable vision for the company that was legible to grant administrators and developed a structure for the  company’s newly formed grants’ team.
